History of the Wise Women
Workshops / Talks
Herbs are a huge part of our ancestral lineage and they have been used throughout our history for food, medicine and dyes.
I offer talks and hands-on workshops on:

-
Medicine of the Highlands
Looking at the plants and other materials which were used as medicine. We will connect with a plant, nurture our intuition and also do hands-on practical medicine making and make a remedy that you can use based on ancient recipes.

-
Domestic Medicine of the 17th century
Speaking about the herbs used by the 17th century women in Britain, connecting with a plant using our intuition and making a remedy based on recipes from this time.
-
Old Wives Tales: Medicine in the 18th, 19th & early 20th Century
Looking at how medicine evolved in Britain and its impact on the folk healer. We will connect with a plant using Goethean science and make a herbal remedy inspired by this time.
-
Women's Medicine
We will speak to the evolution of western medicine, its gender and racial bias and its often strange views of women's health. With plant connection and practical hands on herbal remedy making.
What I am interested in is researching and reclaiming the Wise Women by looking at the history of: women's healthcare, women's roles in society, and women's herbal medicine, and how this has influenced the healthcare and society of today.
